My Two Scents For The Summer

Summer has arrived in my part of the woods, and boy, it’s definitely hot!

And since I am having serious withdrawals from the most amazing spring vacation in Japan, I picked out these two fragrances out of nostalgia. Whenever I buy perfume, I  find that I always reach for the feeling and the memory the scent stirs inside me. Every season is always different, and I always look forward to finding what suits me.

I am a big fan of woody and musky scents but for the warm months I tend to switch to very light, citrussy and powdery notes.

28 La Pausa from Chanel is a très classique summer iris. I don’t know, but when I spray it on it makes me happy and content. The scent reminds me of a Kyoto zen garden after a soft morning rain, a fresh and vibrant green. It’s young and elegant and dreamy.

(Yep, told you, withdrawals.)

I have a love-hate relationship with Mûre et Musc from L’Artisan. I got this bottle from two years ago. I remember I was not very impressed with it last year, but now I love it. Maybe because it is a little fruity. I took the bottle with me to Southeast Asia and the humidity does wonders to the drydown and now I discovered the wonderful musk in the end. It reminds me of the sakura incense I purchased in Tokyo. It has that quiet, complicated mystery about it.

Both perfume bottles are so classy on my dresser.

I know I’ll be reaching for these beauties a lot this summer.

What is your favorite summer scent?

Happy Shopping and have a happy summer! xx
